Echoes of Silence (FM rom poem) A star studded, glittering, blackness. Shadows that aren't quite shadows. Trees, silently whispering the news. Telling tales of what they have seen. A grass filled clearing, now echoing The silent cries of shouted pleasure. Once timid watchers now peek At the miracle before them. Days earlier, two bodies collided Packages fell as hands grabbed. Fingers met and eyes intertwined. Stammered reaching to pick up the pieces. Isolated bench amidst the crowds. Quiet words never spoken. Promises for later never made - but kept. Days the same, always changing. Smiles - then touching - as days lengthen. Tender contact never made but felt. A nod, a smile, passing glances that linger. Commitments agreed on - fleeting memories to come. The dawn of tomorrow brings golden light That reminds us of yesterday's darkness so bright. Uncovered naked, we are clothed with each other. Souls searching eagerly for a new home that's old. Hair penetrates hair as flesh parts flesh. Dryness makes drier the wetness it meets. Stillness of movement as relaxation tenses. Friction makes slippery as heat becomes wet. Two become one and hope to be three. Time never ends as it continues to march. Cries never finished signal completion. One becomes two as three follows none. Forever passes quickly as bodies fall silent. Eyes intertwine as they close off the souls. No words pass between them as a miracle happens. One, then two will be three and then one. A star studded, glittering, blackness. Shadows that aren't quite shadows. Trees, silently whispering the news. Telling tales of what they have seen.
